What do mean by SSL certificate?
Let me explain the requirement of SSL certification for a website. SSL stands for Secure Sockets Layer, with the help of SSL a secured connection is established between the client and the server through HTTPS.
When a site SSL certified the information is only readable for the server to which the information is sent, apart from the server the information is unreadable for the rest. SSL certification is necessary for all types of websites especially e-commerce websites where sensitive data are used.
How do I install SLL certificate?
Follow the below steps to install SSL:
1. go to https://www.sslforfree.com/
2. enter the website URL and select manual verification
3. Download file 1
4. Create a folder in your domain named ".well-known"
5. Create another folder in your domain under ".well-known" named "acme-challenge"
6. Upload the downloaded file1 to the "acme-challenge" folder
7. Click the link to Verify successful upload provide in SSL for free.com
8. Now download the SSL certificate from www.sslforfree.com
9. Upload the downloaded SSL certificate to /etc/apache2/sites-available
10. Edit 000-default.conf in sites-available
11. Remove the comments and save the file
12.restart apache
